Hope

Perhaps it was the abundance of wildlife, the moose, the elk, the bison.

Perhaps it was the earth's molten core rising to meet its crust providing the geological wonder of Old Faithful.

Perhaps it was my breath being taken away, as I peered over the lip of Yellowstone Falls.

Or maybe it was the forethought over a century ago, which made Yellowstone our world's first national park.

Perhaps it was all of these that gave me the hope that we will continue the trend to preserve these places of beauty.

The hope that we will find ways to restore some the wild and free places which we have tamed.
